Karen holds a B.S. in Biology and a Masters in Holistic Counseling. She has been involved with horses for the majority of her life. She exhibited American Saddlebreds for several years and her family has owned a successful breeding operation for nearly 25 years. She views horses as perfect partners on the journey of self-discovery and awareness. Her approach is a gentle, yet very powerful way for individuals to find their way to leading authentic and fulfilling lives.

Karen completed a year training as an apprentice with Linda Kohanov, author of The Tao of Equus and Riding Between The Worlds, and Kathleen Barry Ingram, M.A. in Tucson, Arizona. Karen became an Epona Advanced Approved Instructor in 2005.

Renee McClure is a Licensed Social Worker in private practice based at her farm “Anam Cara.” Renee has been working with adults, adolescents and families for over ten years in a variety of settings. She supports those working through life transitions, trauma, depression, grief and loss.

Renee employs her equine friends as co-facilitators in assisting clients to explore their own authenticity and self-empowerment. Programs at Anam Cara provide life skills and mental health services for adolescents, adults and families to achieve a state of greater physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual balance.
